Kaye Bothe Arnett

Kaye Margaret Bothe Arnett, 64, of rural La Crescent, MN, passed away April 2, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Kaye was born August 16, 1951, to Donald and Donna (Jenkins) Arnett. She graduated in 1969 from La Crescent High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University majoring in German and Art. Kaye taught high school in Karlstad, MN for several years. In 1983, she married David Bothe and they made their home near the family farm in Pine Creek Valley.

She was talented in many areas including art and poetry, along with the practical skills needed to run the farm. Her occupations were broad and varied - everything from a short order cook to a computer network specialist. She entered into a farming partnership with her brother and sister in 1995. She had a love for the outdoors and an appreciation for the land and care of animals including every stray cat and dog in the area. Kaye was passionate about patriotism and politics, and assisted in local government. Her trademarks were her long wavy red hair and her sense of humor.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Donna Arnett; a brother, Vern Arnett; a sister, Lynne Arnett; and stepfather, Ralph Arnett. She is survived by her husband, David Bothe; a brother, Lee (Mari Price) Arnett; and many loving cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at South Ridge United Methodist Church, rural La Crescent. The Rev. Mark Bengtson will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Coulee Region Humane Society.
