Clarence L. “Pat” Cline, 92 of La Crosse, died at home on Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born in Phillips, NE, on December 28, 1923 to James and Mildred (Salmon) Cline. Pat proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He married Ruth Smith on December 27, 1945 in Portage, WI, and she preceded him in death on October 2, 2011. Pat graduated from U-W Madison in 1948 with a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and had worked for over 42 years as a Fisheries Biologist for the DNR retiring in 1984. In his pastime, Pat enjoyed golfing, hunting, travelling and family get togethers. He will be remembered as a big supporter of the Badgers and the Green Bay Packers and was in attendance at the famous 1967 “Ice Bowl”.
He is survived by his two daughters; Kathryn (Tony) Goldade of Eau Claire, WI, Maureen (Richard) Boenigk of Holmen, WI, one son Jeffrey (Nancy) Cline of Tulsa, OK, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Ruth, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Victor and one sister Vera Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services Onalaska chapel; 907 Sand Lake Rd. Pastor Stephanie Steiner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11am until the time of services.
