Marian R. Arentz

Marian R. Arentz, 88 of La Crosse passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born May 27, 1927 in Cashton, WI to John and Gertrude (Marx) Schroeder and graduated from Cashton High School in 1945. On June 23, 1947 she married Harold Arentz and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2000.
Marian was an active member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish and enjoyed playing cards, especially “500”, bingo, shopping, knitting, mystery movies and books, traveling, family gatherings and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her greatest joys however were being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Marian is survived by her seven children; Duane Arentz of La Crosse, Nancy Arentz of Kansas City, KS, Barbara Wrobel of New Braunfels, TX, Linda (Tom) Franzini of La Crosse, Janet Betz of Rochester, MN, Marilyn Arentz of Portland OR and Renelle Roesler of Onalaska; nine grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Ray Jr., Karl, Danny, Lizzie, Nick, Erika and Austin; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Clare Roth of Tucson, AZ; two brothers, Clarence Schroeder of Cashton, WI and Cletus (Rita) Schroeder of Oshkosh, WI. In addition to her husband, Harold she was preceded in death by four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 7th at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 2006 Weston Street, La Crosse with Deacon Richard Sage officiating Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
