Arleen Adsit

November 22, 1921 — March 22, 2016

Arleen E. Adsit, 94, of La Crosse, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Benedictine Manor in La Crosse.
She was born on November 22, 1921, in Onalaska, Wis., to Arthur and Freida (Osterloh) Clements. She later graduated from West Salem High School in 1939. On January 27, 1951, she married Leonard Adsit in West Salem.
Prior to her marriage, Arleen worked as a bookkeeper at the West Salem Creamery. Being very meticulous, she was proud to exceed expectations in state and federal audits. She often said that this was the best training for running a household.
Arleen joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in La Crosse during her marriage and remained a member until her death. She worked for many years as an election polling place worker. She also volunteered with the St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary in the gift shop.
Arleen enjoyed collecting coins, including quarters from every state in the U.S., Indian head pennies, silver dollars as well as a complete collection of Octoberfest buttons. An avid Packer fan, she watched every game; cheering for them even in challenging years.
Survivors include her daughters, Jackie Adsit of La Crosse and Leslie (John) Boben of Woodbury, Minn.; two granddaughters, Ashley (Mark) Schneider of Hastings, Minn., and Breanna Boben of Salem, Ore.; two great granddaughters, Isabella and Lucianna Schneider; and many nieces and nephews. Arleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a brother, Arnold Clements; and two sisters, Florence Halvorson and Lorraine Bachmann.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, March 28th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from noon until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Benedictine Manor for their compassionate care. We love you and will miss you deeply. You will always remain in our hearts.
