Orletta "Lettie" Mccormick

Orletta “Lettie” McCormick, 77 of La Crosse passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Gundersen Health System. She was born May 9, 1938 in Black River Falls, WI to Rachel (Arneson) Emerson and Rollie Saunders. She was baptized and confirmed at South Beaver Creek Church in Melrose, WI. Lettie graduated from Melrose High School and on August 30, 1958 she married Tom McCormick in the Methodist Church in Black River Falls. God blessed them with two children, Faron McCormick and Faith Apfel.
Lettie retired from St. James Health Facility in Crete, IL in 1996. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, gardening, exercising and traveling.
In addition to her husband, Tom; she is survived by two children, Faron McCormick and Faith Apfel both of La Crosse; two step-daughters; Pamela (Steven) Cullens and Peggy (Steve) Gander; grandchildren, Chanda (Matt) Vande Slunt, Lee (Ashley) Apfel, Candice (Mike) Greeno, Colt Johnson and Travis Miller; great-grandchildren, Theo Jensen Innis, Jr., Addyson Apfel and Emerly Vande Slunt; brothers, Ronald (Helen) Saunders, Jerry (Lorraine) Saunders, Dennis (Marlene) Saunders, Terry (Sallie) Saunders, DeVere Emerson and Richard Matthews; sisters-in-law, Beverly Harper and Grace Ann McCormick and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Marie Saunders; step-father, Edward Emerson; father and mother-in-law, Clair and Clara McCormick, Sr.; brothers, Lyman “Red” Saunders and Duane “Gene” Saunders; brothers-in-law, George Harper, Sr., Philip “Pat” Thomas; sisters-in-law, Takaki “Butch” Saunders and Virginia “Ginny” Thomas; nieces, Arlene Kay Thomas and Sandra Thomas; nephews, Gordon McCormick, Joel and Dennis Thomas and great nephew Tony Teeples.
Funeral services will held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 15th at Olivet Lutheran Church, 2100 Bainbridge St., La Crosse with Rev. David Baldukas officiating. Burial will take place in the French Island Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Monday at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
