Betty J. Potts

Betty J. Potts, 91, of La Crosse passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 in her home. She was born on March 24, 1924 in Elroy, Wisconsin to Edward and Clara (Schlicht) Layland. Betty graduated from Central High School in La Crosse. On April 2, 1946 she married Samuel Potts in Pine Hill, N.J. Betty loved playing cards and winning was not important. She also enjoyed listening to music, cooking, feeding the birds and gardening.
Betty is survived by two daughters Carol (Rod) Ingram of Vacaville, CA and Nancy Potts of La Crosse, one son David (Janet) Potts of La Crosse, seven grandchildren, seven great – grandchildren and one sister Doris Collins of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel on June 8, 1990 and by two brothers Lloyd Layland and Donald Layland.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Pastor Ted Dewald will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum, Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
