Anthony Boullion

November 20, 1929 — February 28, 2016

Anthony “Tony” A. Boullion, 86, of Onalaska, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Bluffview Memory Care in Holmen.
He was born on November 20, 1929, in Humbird, Wis., to Alfred and Anna (Kaufman) Boullion, and was raised on the family farm until his senior year in high school when the family moved to La Crosse. Tony graduated from Aquinas High School in 1947. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 1951 and later attained his Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Tony spent his entire 38-year teaching career at Onalaska High School which began in 1952 as a math teacher, guidance counselor and coach. He served as the head baseball coach from 1957 until 1970, winning nine conference championships during that time.
Tony was a friend to many. He loved to visit, listen, encourage, and laugh; no one who met Tony was a stranger for long. Many people reached out to him during his illness to tell him how much he impacted their lives. He loved all sports and was a diehard Brewers and Packers fan. Above all else, Tony was a loving father, a devoted grandfather, and a dedicated teacher, counselor and coach.
He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Diane Mross; his children and grandchildren, Sharon Golden of Plymouth, Minn., and her daughters, Alison and Jenna, Anne Meyer of Plymouth, Minn., and Jim Boullion of Scottsdale, Ariz., and his daughters, Brittany Brewster and Rachel Boullion; and two nephews, Terry and Dennis Schlicht. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joseph Boullion; sisters, Margaret Schlicht and Mildred Mahan; and brothers, Glenn and Gordon Boullion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, March 1st, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate.
