Phyllis Seymour

Phyllis M. Seymour, 89, of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.
She was born in Galesville, Wis., on May 6, 1926, to Joseph and Lizzie (Martinson) Dettinger. She married Wayne Mickschl and he preceded her in death. She later married William Seymour and he also preceded Phyllis in death.
Phyllis had been a member of the Stoddard Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and trips to the casinos, playing solitaire, and traveling to Branson and attending the shows. But, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Gail Peterson of Crofton, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Mickschl of La Crosse; four grandchildren, Tim (Jenny) Mickschl of La Crosse, Tracy (Jason) Gray of La Crosse, Jessica (Mitch) Douglass of Crofton, Md., and Christine (Robert) Tolbert of Erie, Penn.; nine great grandchildren; and her loving companion for many years, Robert Witzke. She is further survived by a sister, Julie (Johnie) Groves of Branson, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Kaye Mickschl of West Salem and Renay (La Verne) Martinson of Winona; brothers-in-law, Terry Witt, who lives in Missouri, and Lyle (Jean) Mickschl of Hudson, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, Phyllis was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Mickschl, and an infant son, Wayne Mickschl, Jr.; a son-in-law, Wallace Peterson; and siblings, Ronnie Dettinger, Charlotte Reidel, and Lorraine Wobig.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Pastor Curtis Blair will officiate. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery on Brice Prairie. Family and friends may call from 9:30 am until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
