Hilda Mary Melde

Hilda Mary (Thompson) Melde, 100, of La Crosse passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on October 8, 1915 to Herman and Lena (Larson) Thompson and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Hilda had worked for 22 years at Benson Optical as a receptionist and billing clerk.
She married George S. Melde on September 9, 1939 and he preceded her in death on February 4, 1974. She is survived by two children Louise (Dean) Limberg of La Crosse, Greg Melde of Madison; five grandchildren, Troy (Beth) Limberg, Todd Limberg, Tracy (Amy) Limberg, Trent (Kenlyn) Limberg and Trevor (Angie) Limberg; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Florence Moe-Olson of La Crosse.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St., La Crosse, WI. Burial will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
