Kathleen Nichols

Kathleen S. Nichols, 67 of La Crosse passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at the Hillview Healthcare Center following a long battle with cancer. Kathy was born January 17, 1949 to Elmer and June (Davis) Peterson.
On September 18, 1987 she married Paul Nichols and together they raised four children; Gina Boisen (Dave Aarstad) and her children, Jessica and Josh Doering; Dan (Teresa) Muth and their children, Mathias, Maya and Mason; step-children, Stacey Grams-Daigle and her children, Shawna, Samantha, Alex and Abby; Rhonda Mahlum and her children, Tiara and Harley. Kathy is also survived by her sisters, Carla (Clyde) Lessard and their children, Desirae, Jamey, Matthew and Brianna; Doris (Pat) Coughlin and their children, Mike and Debbie Dobrunz; her brother, John (Rose) Peterson and their children, Ben, Sarah, Sam and Zach; two great-grandchildren, Kirra Jo and Avon; three great nephews, a great niece and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Karen; two brothers, Peter and David; her parents; a grandson and a granddaughter.
Kathy was a very wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had an extreme passion for anything strawberry.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 8th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse with Rev. Tylan Dalrymple officiating. Entombment will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the services.
