Rita A. Greene

Rita A. Greene, 74, of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Rochester. She was born on March 21, 1941 in La Crosse to Benjamin and Elaine (Sanford) Emery. She married Daniel “Boone” Greene on April 27, 1963 in St. John’s
Catholic Church. Rita had worked at the State Bank in La Crosse for many years. She enjoyed garage sales, bus trips to the casino, ceramics, and was an avid bowler and reader. Rita volunteered at the Eagles Club, Red Cross, and the Moose Lodge.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim (Claire) Sweet of West Salem, Kelly Greene of La Crosse, and Shelly (Michael) Hugeback of Rochester, nine grandchildren, Matt, Alanna, Stephanie, Dan, Bobby, Jeremy, Lexi, Aidan, and Austin, three great-grandchildren, Jayce, Mia, and William, her sisters and brother, Linda (Bob) Severson, Gary (Anchan) Emery, Deb (Larry) Jiracek, Brenda (Harry) Schwartz, and Roxanne (Jeff) Karbula, a sister-in-law Sharon Emery, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Dennis Emery, a sister-in-law Joan Emery, and a nephew Troy Emery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Father Billy Dodge will officiate. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
