Lillian F. Larson, age 105, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Hillview Healthcare Center in La Crosse. She was born in Chaseburg, WI, on November 24, 1910 to Matthew and Mary (Cuta) Spika. In February of 1936 she married Milton Larson at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse and he preceded her in death in 1961.
Lillian and Milton had owned and operated the Our Corner tavern and later Milt and Lil’s tavern located at 10th and Redfield St. in La Crosse. She later worked at the Bodega in downtown La Crosse until she was well into her 70’s.
She is survived by her children; Sharon (Gene) Jirsa of La Crosse, Janice (Leo) Hammes of Sterling IL, James (Mary) Larson of Three Rivers, MI, Mary Jean (Michael) Sheffer of La Crosse, Tom (Margie) Larson of Onalaska, WI, fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her daughter in law Jane Everett of West Salem, WI, special niece Gretchen Coughlin of La Crosse and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Milton, she was preceded in death by two sons Donald and Richard and three sisters Katherine, Marie and Agnes.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hillview for the care they provided Lillian during her stay.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery La Crosse. Friends may call on the family Friday morning at the church from 9am until the time of Mass. Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
