Evelyn L. Kramer, 72, of La Crescent, MN peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 in her home. She was born on December 20, 1943 in La Crosse, WI to Harold and Leona (Puent) Bashaw. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in Hokah in 1962. She married Clarence Kramer on May 2, 1964 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah. They then moved to the Kramer family farm in Lanes Valley. After Clarence passed away Evelyn moved to La Crescent where she made many dear friends. Evelyn had worked at Crown, Cork and Seal for many years.
She is survived by three daughters Cynthia (Donald) Miller of Rockland, WI, Linda (Brian) Proudfoot of La Crescent, MN and Christina “Chrisy” (Nicholas) Fell of Onalaska, WI, one son Richard (Marlene) Kramer of Rock Springs, WY, six grandchildren Amanda, Catherine, Christopher, Anna, Kelby and Makayla, four great grandchildren Jeffrey “J.J.”, Angela “Angel”, Skai and Madelyn, two very special grand puppies Sabrina and Gwen, one sister Susan Gallagher of La Crosse, WI, three brothers John (Lois) Bashaw of La Crescent, MN, Thomas (Mary Ann) Bashaw of Onalaska, WI and Peter Bashaw of Stoddard, WI, two sisters-in-law Renee Druliner of Holmen, WI and Grace Bashaw of La Crosse, WI, one brother-in-law Gerald Grossbach of La Crosse, WI along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence on May 12, 2004, three brothers Robert, Paul and Daniel and two sisters Elaine Grossbach and Sister Barbara Bashaw OSB.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Church of the Crucifixion, 423 S. 2nd St., La Crescent. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Toledo Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 111 S. Oak St., La Crescent on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 5 – 8 PM where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM and again at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
