Raymond W. Passe, 100 of La Crosse passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Hillview Healthcare Center. He was born April 27, 1915 in Wabasha, Minn. to Bernard and Mary (Mars) Passe. On July 24, 1943 Ray married Marie Trinkes in Santa Ana, Calif., and she preceded him in death on April 2, 1999.
Ray was a WWII veteran having served in the United States Army Air Corps from April 1942 until his discharge in November 1945. He had worked as a machinist for the La Crosse Trane Company for 35 years until his retirement in 1981. Ray and Marie were longtime members of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in La Crosse.
Ray is survived by four children; James (Angele) Passe of Minneapolis, Dennis (Elli) Passe of Hebron, IL, Janice (Nicholas) Berry of La Crosse and Gerard (Alice Bigalk) Passe of Stoddard, WI; 12 grandchildren; Oliver Passe, Alexia (John) Knapp, Michael Passe, Laura Passe, Heather Passe, Melinda Roskos, Thomas (Mateja) Roskos, Jon (Amy) Roskos, Nicholas Passe, Gretchen (Ben) Roin, Molly (Tony) Cerniglia and Kate Bigalk; six great-grandchildren; Matthew Knapp, Alexander Knapp, Laia de Francisco, Pearl Passe, Isabella Cerniglia and Sofia Cerniglia; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Servais of La Crosse and Marie Passe of Wabasha, Minn.; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Marie, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Passe; a grandson, Adam Bigalk and eight brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 15th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in the St. Franics of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse where a prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM. Visitation will also be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials are preferred to Villa St. Joseph, W2658 State Road 33, La Crosse, WI 54601.
