Anita R. Amundson, 86 of La Crosse, died on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center. She was born in La Crosse on February 24, 1929 to Walter and Mathilda (Newburg) Amundson. Anita had worked at Trane Company as a secretary for over 25 years until her retirement.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law; Donamae Amundson and Betty Amundson both of La Crosse, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Robert, William and Richard Amundson and a sister, Lorraine Knutson.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 5th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse with Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. A private family burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:30 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
