Douglas W. Roesler

Douglas W. Roesler, 88 of rural Coon Valley, died on Friday December 4, 2015. Douglas was born April 19, 1927 to Frank and Martha (Eggler) Roesler. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse. On October 10, 1961 he married Helen Thiele and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2015. Douglas farmed the Roesler family farm until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked with his wife and brother-in-law on the Thiele farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and sharing his harvest with family and friends.
Douglas is survived by sisters; Lucille Hoeth of Las Vegas, Doris Gerke of Genoa and Susanne (Gerald) Forsythe of La Crosse; sister-in-law, Rosella Roesler of La Crosse; brother-in-law, Bernard (Ettie) Thiele of La Crosse and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Daniel and Wilbert Roesler; sister, Phyllis Bendel; sister-in-law, Esther Roesler; brothers-in-law, Leo Gerke, Arville Hoeth and Clarence Bendel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 9th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 S. 13th St. La Crosse with Rev. G. Rick Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials are preferred to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
