Jean Ann Privett, 81, of La Crosse, in anticipation of her 63rd Wedding Anniversary, went to be with the love of her life Leo, on Saturday, November 28th, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born on April 22, 1934 in La Crosse to Lawrence and Marcella (Troendle) Dammon. She married Leo J. Privett on November 29, 1952 in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and was his “Honeypot”. Jean had worked for Mr. Coleman at the Vocational College and as a receptionist for Dr. Wheeler DDS. Jean worked from April 1960 until November 1972 at the Hollywood Theatre at the concession stand. She then worked in the Dietary Department at St. Francis Hospital, at K-Mart, and retired from Stansfield Vending. Jean took great pride in her gardens and her home. She loved Elvis music, visiting with her sisters and nieces and nephews, traveling, and going out to eat. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus and the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman.
Jean is survived by two sisters, Gladys M. Neff of Mesquite, TX and Patricia D. Haas of La Crosse, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo on April 4, 1973, her parents, a brother Richard L. Dammon, a sister Leonette K. Hether, her mother and father-in-law, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Wednesday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman and for television masses for the Cathedral.
