Jacob David Schroeder, 13, of Onalaska, ran into the arms of Jesus and his daddy on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015. Jacob was born August 8, 2002 in Rochester, MN, to Dave and Karla (Domogalla) Schroeder. He was in 8th grade at Holmen Middle School.
Jacob blessed this world with pure joy. Despite his body being born with challenges, his spirit soared. Jacob defied odds with laughter and an amazing smile. He embraced life with a zest beyond words. Jacob charmed those around him and made friends everywhere he went. His captivating personality had a radiance that drew people to him and made them feel the pure love he had for life!
Jacob is survived by his mama, Karla, bubbas Michael Brophy and Devin Schroeder, sister-in-law Emma Brophy, nephew Zayden, and niece Anastasia. He is also survived by his grandmas Lorraine Schroeder and Belva Domogalla and grandpa Marvin Carter, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daddy, Grandpa Dick and Grandpa Wayne. He was deeply loved and greatly cared for by his nurse Sharon Harter, the School District of Holmen, Mayo Health Systems, and Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Memorials can be sent to Mayo Clinic Spina Bifida/CP Clinic or Ronald McDonald House in Rochester.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11 AM at Journey Lutheran Church; 2703 Sand Lake Rd. Onalaska. Pastors Brad Lindberg and Justin Domogalla will officiate. Burial will follow in the Green Mound Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9am until the time of services. He was a lover of all things green, so please wear green to his service. Schumacher- Kish funeral home is in charge of arrangements. A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Mayo Clinic and St. Mary’s in Rochester, MN. You cared for my boy from the moment of his birth to the moment of his entrance into heaven. Our love and gratitude for you will never end.
