Frank J. Van Voorhis

Frank J. Van Voorhis, 83, of La Crosse, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility. He was born on January 29, 1932 in La Crosse to Abraham and Victoria (Mashak) Van Voorhis. Frank graduated from Sacred Heart Mission Seminary in Geneva, Illinois. After high school he moved back to La Crosse where he worked at Jack Robinson TV & Appliance until retirement. Frank was instrumental in starting the La Crosse Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps, where he received many awards for his hard work and dedication.
He is survived by one brother George (Judy) Van Voorhis of La Crosse, nephews Dave (Mary), Tom (Sue), Joe (Judy), Mark (Tamara) and a niece Maria. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. There will be no service.
