James “Jim” B. Guscetti, 87, of La Crosse, died on Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Benedictine Manor, where he had resided for the past 16 years.
He was born in La Crosse on June 25, 1928, to Louis and Catherine (Levi) Guscetti. He served with the U.S. Marines and was a member of American Legion Post 315 of Stoddard for over 50 years. He was also a long-time member of the Catholic War Veterans. Jim and been employed by the Trane Company before retiring.
For many years, Jim truly lived his faith and was a frequent mass server at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Jim was a good friend to many and will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind and good-natured man.
Jim is survived by his sister, Lois Burkhart, of Wausau. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph.
Special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center, now Benedictine Manor, for tending to Jim’s needs and providing a safe home for this sweet-tempered, gentle soul for so many years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 13th, in the Marian Chapel of the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chein. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of mass at the church.
