Richard George Fried

Richard “Dick” George Fried, 88, of La Crosse, died on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on March 6, 1927 in La Crosse to George and Florence (Kubiak) Fried. Dick was a US Navy veteran. He married Betty Lehrke on April 29, 1948 in La Crosse. Dick had worked as a brick layer for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping, and was a wonderful husband.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty, a sister Mary Bendel of La Crosse, a brother John (Shirley) Fried of La Crosse, several nieces and nephews, and special friends, Patty and Dave Vigness. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Audrey Allen, and a brother Jim Fried.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Pastor Richard Pamperin will officiate. Burial will be in the French Island Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
