Shirley A. Becker

Shirley A. Becker, 71, of La Crescent, died on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born on April 3, 1944 in Iowa to Joseph and Evelyn (Twite) Becking. Shirley married Joseph F. Becker on August 12, 1967 in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Hokah, MN. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, crafts, flea markets, antiquing, refinishing woodwork, cooking, canning, reading and traveling. She was a good listener who gave great common sense advice. She was happiest when she was riding along in the semi with her husband Joe, and being a farm wife. She also loved being with her grandkids.
Shirley is survived by a daughter Tracy (Dirk) Mulder of Holmen, a son Tony (Heidi) Becker of Whitehall, WI, two grandchildren, Seth and Hannah Mulder, a special friend and cousin, Sylvia Skifton, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 2006, and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Crucifixion, La Crescent. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Please feel free to dress casually and comfortably. Burial will be in the Crucifixion Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crescent on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the Church of the Crucifixion.
