Audrey M. Kabat

Audrey M. (Stokke) Kabat, 91, of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility.
She was born in La Crosse on September 7, 1924, to Adolph and Jeanette (Larson) Stokke. She attended La Crosse schools and graduated from La Crosse Central High School on June 4, 1942. Audrey was employed for many years by AutoLite and then by the Katz Company.
Audrey married Robert “Big John” Kabat on August 22, 1964, in La Crosse. She and John spent many happy summers camping at Lake Eau Claire near Augusta, Wis.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Delores Eklund and Ruth Kabat; a nephew, Richard (Kerry) Stokke, and his children, Kristy (Adam Reich) Stokke and Stephanie (Stanley) Howe, along with four great, great nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Waylon, Eli and Silvia; and several other nieces and nephews and their families. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her brothers, Charles (Marion) Stokke and Ralph (Charlotte) Stokke; and a nephew, Ralph Stokke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 15th, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2135 Weston St., La Crosse. Rev. Bruce Iverson will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church.
