Eleanor (Leidel) Senn

Eleanor M. (Leidel) Senn, 98, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility. She was born on February 22, 1917 in Dresbach Township, Winona County, Minnesota to Henry and Johanna (Utecht) Leidel. She married Russel J. Senn on July 12, 1937.
She is survived by a son Richard (Patricia) Senn, a daughter Marguerite ‘Peg’ Wansley, daughter-in-law Judy Senn all of La Crescent, MN three grandchildren Jeff, David and Scott Senn, two great grandchildren, a sister Evelyn White of Park Rapids, MN along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Russel J. Senn, a son Russell E. Senn, a son-in-law Fred Wansley, three brothers and two sisters.
Eleanor spent the last eight years at Bethany – Riverside Nursing Facility. Our family extends their grateful thanks to them, especially the dedicated and compassionate staff of the 600 hall and to all associated with caring for mom; housekeeping, laundry, social services, kitchen, maintenance and office staff. Your loving care and support given to Mom and our family will always be remembered.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, La Crescent, MN. Pastor Lisa Shank will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the La Crescent Area Historical Society or Prospect Hill Cemetery Association. The Schumacher - Funeral & Cremation Services, La Crosse Chapel is assisting the family.
