Jerry R. Boggs, 57, of De Soto, WI passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on August 16th, 2015. Jerry was born on June 8th, 1958 in Viroqua to Larry Boggs and Clarice Hagen-Boggs. He graduated from Viroqua High School and went on to attended Western Technical College and Winona State University with associate degrees in Criminal Justice, Photography, and Culinary Arts. Jerry served in the U.S. Army until 1981, attaining the rank of Private First Class. After leaving the U.S. Army he continued his service with the local National Guard until 1988. On November 26th, 1983, he married Diana M. Krachey in her hometown of Wauzeka, WI. They met while working together at St. Francis Hospital/Nursing Home. He worked for the La Crosse Tribune for many years as well as a Postal Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until falling ill.
He is survived by his wife, Diana, daughters Amanda (Jerry) Benzing of Cataract, WI, Brenda (Scott) Wendle of Verona, WI, Nikki Boggs of De Soto, WI, grandsons Griffin and Ayden Benzing, granddaughter Josalyn Benzing, siblings Chris (Katie) Boggs of Stevens Point, WI, Sara (Luis) Gomez of Madison, WI and Lori Boggs of La Crosse, WI along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Clarice.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday August 25th, 2015 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse, WI, followed by military honors. Pastor Jean Waldron will officiate. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Haney Ridge Cemetery in Boscobel, WI. Relatives and friends are welcome at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 PM for visitation prior to the service, with an additional gathering to be held at Bethany Riverside Chapel located at 2575 South 7th Street, La Crosse, WI from 2:00-5:00 PM.
