Thomas Albert Macak

On Friday July 3, 2015, Thomas Albert Macak of Holmen, WI, was reunited with our Lord in Heaven. He was born September 17, 1950, in Rice Lake, WI, to Albert and Merlyn (Maack) Macak. Tom was raised on the family farm in Barron, WI. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Barron. Tom married Rhea Alexander on August 9, 1980, in Warrens, WI and they were blessed with two children, Danielle and Alexander.
As a young man he was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and achieved their highest rank of Eagle. He was very proud when his son Alex also became an Eagle. Some of the most cherished family moments were spent at the family cabin, the Shady Nook, in Cumberland, WI. Tom was an avid fisherman who passed on his love of fishing to his daughter Danielle. Tom was involved in the food distribution industry most of his adult life. In 2001 he started his own company, DART Distribution, in the La Crosse area.
Tom will be remembered as a hardworking man who stood by his word and showed compassion and generosity towards all. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Rhea, his children Danielle and Alexander, his mother-in-law Donneita Alexander, sister-in-law Audrey Chambers, brothers-in-law Pete Peterson and Marty (Kathy) Alexander, nieces and nephews Lisa Singleton, Tracy Brueck, Scott Chambers, Stephany Dowson, Fawn Alexander, Bryan Courtney, Kristen McGarry, and Kari Becker, and dear friends Brad and Colleen Marker.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Merlyn Macak, father-in-law Albert (Ab) Alexander, sister-in-law Barb Peterson, brother-in-law Ken Chambers, and nephew Cole Alexander.
Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of Onalaska, 907 Sand Lake Road, on Friday, July 10 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 AM at the Shell Lake United Methodist Church, 135 Reinhart Drive, with Pastor Steven Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Camp Phillips Boy Scout Camp, Rice Lake, WI
