Minnie "Pat" R. Schmidt

Minnie R. “Pat” Schmidt, 84, of La Crosse, died on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on February 27, 1931 in Dewitt, Arkansas to Louie and Tandy (Harvey) Capps. Pat married Stanley Schmidt on August 26, 1960. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2006. Pat enjoyed traveling, playing cards, bingo and games, and birthday trips to the casino with her daughters.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Trones of La Crosse, Sandra (Steven) Wright of Bangor, and Sheila (Kevin) Paar of Holmen, six grandchildren, Tamra (Kevin) Parnell, Jennifer (Joe) Trones, Kyle and Kelsey Wright, Justin (Ashley) Paar, and Melissa Paar, two great-grandchildren, Danika Parnell and Nevaeh Trones, a sister, Martha Ojeda, two brothers, Shelby and Mike Capps, a sister-in-law, Delores Schmidt, three brothers-in-law, Donald (Joanne) Schmidt, Dale (Gloria) Schmidt and John Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Reuben and Milton Capps, and two brothers-in-law, Roger and James Schmidt.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at 2:00 PM in the Elkton Cemetery, Elkton, SD. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
