Richard "Dick" Bruley

Richard D. “Dick” Bruley, 76, of Holmen, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Gundersen Health Center. He was born on September 13, 1938 in Sparta, WI to Hugh and Georgina (Singleton) Bruley. He graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1956. The greatest day of his life was November 25, 1962 when he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Dick married Lois L. Crowson on April 3, 1964. They were blessed with three sons. Dick served with the US Navy for four years and then worked for Western Union until 1971. He worked for MSI Insurance for 30 years until his retirement and then drove bus for First Transit until his death.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lois, three sons, Dirk (Chiara Wuensch) of Ft. Collins, CO, Troy (Kerry) of Genoa City, WI, and Bart of La Crosse, seven grandchildren, Jorgie Wynn, Jordan Lillie, Isaac, Caleb, Alexandria, Anton and Austin, three sisters, Gertrude Marco of Melrose, WI, Rhoda (John) Meyers of Arkansas, and Loretta Doescher of Twin Lakes, WI, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, Warren, John, Robert, Edwin, William, Marvin and Donald, two sisters, RoseAlyce Johnson and Elizabeth Elliot, and two nephews, Timothy and Kevin.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Burial will be in the Ox Bow Cemetery, Melrose, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
