Peter F. Follansbee

Peter (Pete) F. Follansbee, 58 passed away May 20, in his home. He was born August 22, 1956, to Gail and Helen (Stephan) Follansbee. Pete worked as a county surveyor for La Crosse County for 28 years.
Pete had a love of the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman. On any given weekend you could find Pete out on the river on his beloved boat. He was a member of the La Crosse Bass Masters for years. He also loved golfing. He played on a Wednesday night golf league for 25+years with a group of great friends. They enjoyed their golf game almost as much as the time spent afterwards just hanging out having a few beers. Pete knew how to live. As he often said, “You have to make your own fun” which he did often. He was one-of-a-kind! He will be missed by many including his dog that he adored and spoiled more than any dog we know.
He is survived by his mother Helen of La Crosse, four brothers and sisters, David Follansbee of La Crosse, Diane (Mike Snyder) Sullivan and her daughter Kelly Sullivan, of Marrietta, CA, Tracy (Bill) McMillan and their children Brock and Leah, of Carlsbad, CA, and Steve (Kris) Follansbee and their children Nicholas and Jacob, of Onalaska, and aunts, Carol Lee of Stoddard and Rita Stephan of La Crosse, and uncle Robert Stephan of La Crosse, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Gail, his grandparents, Peter and Helen Stephan and Fred and Marie Follansbee and uncles Ray Lee and Raymond Stephan.
A memorial service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, May 26 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services in La Crosse with Pastor Jason Stanton officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until the time of service. We will have a “Celebration of Life” for Pete following the memorial service at Earl’s Grocery and Saloon. Private family burial will take place on Wednesday, May 27 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
