Doris Ann Jorstad

April 29, 1948 — May 19, 2015

Doris Ann Jorstad, 67, of Hokah, MN passed away peacefully Tuesday May 19, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Doris spent many years battling heart attacks, breast cancer, and kidney disease, but on Tuesday that fight ended with a heart filled with faith and pain free; she was happy to be going home. She was born on April 29, 1948, to Melvin and Ester Brickman of Caledonia, MN. Doris worked at many area Kwik Trips Stores, local convenience stores and One Hour Cleaners but first and foremost her dedication was to her and husbands’ business, Hokah Bait.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren while attending as many packer games as possible. Her first love was fishing. She loved to fish with her family and spent countless hours at her famous fishing spot, the Honey Hole, where she caught numerous big trout and for years was known as the “Queen of Trout”. When the Packers weren’t playing and the fish weren’t biting, she enjoyed making trips to the casinos; she also enjoys spending time with family and friends and her furry companion Benjamin Franklin.
Doris was a big supporter of the Steppin Out In Pink Breast Cancer Walk. She thought it was important to support the cause even after winning her fight. Her support and dedication continued throughout the years.
In addition to her husband Brian Jorstad, she is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Don) Heiller, Carol (Rick) Larson; step children Matthew Jorstad and Andrew (Stacey) Jorstad; three sisters Diane Schmidt, Darlene Brickman, and Deloris (Fred) Benning; three brothers Dave (Joyce) Brickman, Darrell (Pam) Brickman, and Donnie (Tami) Brickman; grandchildren Joe (Ellen) Uter, Mike (Megan) Uter, Ashley Rogich, Alycia Larson, Jacob Jorstad, Alison Jorstad, Amelia Jorstad, Madison Jorstad, and Ryker Jorstad. She was preceded in death by her father Melvin Brickman, mother Ester Brickman, and brother Dewaine Brickman.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 22nd at 11:00 am at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 414 Main Street, La Crescent, MN. Pastor Chris Christenson will officiate. Burial will be in the Onalaska City Cemetery.
