Benjamin William Ellingsworth, 84, of La Crosse, died on Tuesday, May 05, 2015 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1931 in Terre Haute, IN to Clifford and Pearl (Upchurch) Ellingsworth. Benjamin was a very proud veteran of the US Army. He had worked as a truck driver for many years and had owned the Wooden Nickel in La Crosse. He enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles, and loved John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosemary, six children, Ron (Teresa) Derks, Terri Stock-Derks, Rich Derks, and Peggy, Tina and Karen Ellingsworth and their families, eight grandchildren, Michelle (Troy) Lietzau, Mathew (Lisa) Derks, Tyler Derks, Jessica Stock, Jaclyn (Andrew) Spencer, Benjamin Stock, Emily Stock and Samantha Derks, seven great-grandchildren, Jaydon, Devon, Jocelyn, Kylie, Macie, Emmie and Drew, a sister Jane and a brother Don. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Clifford, a daughter Debbie, a great-grandson Riley and a brother Joe.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
