Coletta E. Walter

Coletta E. Walter, 88, of La Crosse and formerly of La Crescent, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Benedictine Manor in La Crosse. She was born on March 16, 1927 in Norwalk, WI to Anton and Agnes (Heintz) Ebert. She married Joseph Walter on May 5, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in La Crosse. Coletta liked playing cards, square dancing and going on bus trips.
She is survived by her husband Joe; children, Tom (Jenny) Walter of La Crosse, Sue (Ron) Tubbs of Deerfield, WI, Dennis Walter of La Crescent and Sheila (Dave) Freese of La Crescent; daughter-in-law, Gayle Walter of La Crosse; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Matt (Kris), Jack (Kailey), Andy, Kevin, Tina and Kim; and three great grandchildren, Jacob, Lauren and Jordy. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Aretas Hafner; and a brother, Leander Ebert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in the Crucifixion Cemetery in La Crescent, MN. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of service Thursday at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of Benedictine Manor for their compassionate care of Coletta.
