Thomas McInerny Coulombe, 39 of La Crosse, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. He was born in La Crosse on January 8, 1976 to Mike and Theresa (McInerny) Coulombe. And grew up with his older brothers and sisters playing in the parks and woods and marshes of La Crosse. He attended Blessed Sacrament School for eight years, then graduated from Aquinas High School in 1994. After a year working in Madison, he attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, earning his degree with high grades in Information Technology in 2001. After working for Prometrics in Minneapolis for two years, he returned to La Crosse, where he worked for Lutheran Hospital for six years and then in sales for six more years. On June 5, 2010 he married Whitney Miller in La Crosse and was presently employed by La Crosse County Justice Sanctions.
In addition to his wife Whitney of La Crosse, Tom is survived by his sweet daughter Mara, by his sister Bridget Van Beek of Waupon, Wi, by his brother Joe (Michele) Coulombe of Collingswood, NJ, by his sister Becky (Bill) Moe of Appleton, WI, by his mother in law Angie Miller of La Crosse and by seven nephews and seven nieces. He is further survived by many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his older brother Matt who died in 1981.
Tom was a loving husband and father. He adored his daughter Mara and was very proud of her natural talents and high spirits. His quick mind, sharp wit and sense of humor impressed and entertained his family, friends and colleagues. He possessed critical but generous insights into our society and he wasn’t afraid to share them with people who were close to him. Tom was appreciated and much loved by so many.
Memorial services will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel; 200 West Ave. South. Deacon Richard Sage will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Tom’s memory.
