James "Jimmy" Schumacher

James R. “Jimmy” Schumacher, 57, of La Crosse, passed away at his home on Friday, April 3, 2015.

He was born in La Crosse on October 29, 1957, to Edwin R. and Valeria M. (Volk) Schumacher. He attended La Crosse schools and graduated from Central High School. Jimmy worked in construction for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, and especially enjoyed hunting deer and goose, and fishing. He was also an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers and Badgers.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Valeria Schumacher of Onalaska; his fiancé, Amy Mlsna of La Crosse; his children, Jesse (Mary), Travis, Brandon, Casey, and Ryan, all of La Crosse; nine grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Jeff (Mary), Peter (Moreen), and David (Patty), all of La Crosse, Paula Krause (fiancé, Chris Kittner) of Mazomanie, Wis., Stevie (Carol) of Fond du Lac, Wis., Ronnie (Carman)of Menomonie, Wis., and Kristy Schumacher of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin, on August 7, 2004.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 9th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. A celebration of Jimmy’s life is being scheduled for a later date.
