Cassie E. Griffin

Cassie E. Griffin, 92, of Onalaska, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Onalaska Care Center. She was born on October 31, 1922 in Dix, Illinois to Ernest and Jennie (Nesbit) Breeze. She had worked at Western Manor Nursing Home in Ranger, Texas for many years. Cassie was an avid doll collector and enjoyed spending her free time drawing. She also loved playing scrabble with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters Beverly Taborn of Bangs, TX and Jane Ehler of Du Quoin, Il, two sons Randolph (Jody) Shelton, Sr. of Sparta, WI and John (Dawn) Griffin of Holmen, nineteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild, two sisters Della Horton of Du Quoin, Il and Mae McClanahan of Hillsboro, Il. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters SanDee Garner and Barbara Shelton, a grand-daughter Carmen Ocasio, three brothers and two sisters.
A gathering for family and friends will be on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Burial will follow in the Green Mound Cemetery, Holmen, WI.
