Donald J. Hayek

Donald J. Hayek, 95, of La Crosse, died on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on June 6, 1919 in La Crosse to Frank and Ida (Westphal) Hayek. Don was a US Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He married Jeanette “Jenny” Miller on July 25, 1943. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2014. Don had worked at Trane Company for many years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by a son Ronald, his twin-sister Dorothy Cleary, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Jenny he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Bob, and Ed, and a sister Florence.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at English Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Solyst will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater La Crosse or English Lutheran Church.
