Susan "Tooty" Anderson

November 29, 1941 — March 21, 2015

Susan M. “Tooty” Anderson, 73 of La Crosse died on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center. She was born November 29, 1941 in La Crosse to Walter and Isabella (Mader) Anderson and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1959. Tooty had worked in the housekeeping department at Mayo Health System for many years until her retirement. She was a loving and devoted caretaker for her invalid mother for many years until her mother’s death.
Tooty was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed many bus trips to Lambeau Field. She also loved her dogs and gardening.
Survivors include her brother, Steve (Joan) Anderson of La Crosse; a special niece, Stephanie (Michael) Galstad of La Crosse along with other nieces and nephews; Michael (Kristy) Anderson, Patricia (Jeff) Brown and Joan (Tom) Rehberg all of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Daniel (Cindy) Anderson of Orlando, FL, Thomas Anderson of Bloomington, MN, Tiffney Galstad of La Crescent, MN, Jeff Galstad, Wally Buchholtz, Todd Buchholtz and Lisa (Darrell) Urban all of La Crosse. She is further survived by many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Boenigk.
Tooty’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center for their loving and dedicated care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 27th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
