James J. Stahl

James J. Stahl, 63, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on September 26, 1951 in La Crosse to Roman and Alice (Stair) Stahl. Jim graduated from Central High School. He had owned Mac’s Bait Shop in Onalaska for many years. Jim loved spending time with family, especially holidays, and family vacations on Nelson Lake in Hayward. He loved fishing with his cousin, gardening, and playing cards, including Bridge, where he was a Master Player.
He is survived by a daughter, Katie (Jeff) Osuski, two sisters, Lorrie Peterson and Bernie (Rich) Friedman, four nieces and nephews, Jeff (Diane) Peterson, Jill Peterson-Tisdale (Mark), Eric (Anna) Friedman and Sara (Dave) William, five great-nieces and nephews, and many extended family of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Shirley Stahl and a brother-in-law, Marty Peterson.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
