Helen M. Roesler

Helen M. Roesler, 87 of rural Coon Valley died on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center. She was born January 19, 1928 in La Crosse to Bernard and Emmele (Thomas) Thiele, Sr. and attended Valley View School in rural Coon Valley. At the age of two she moved to the Thiele Farm on Schmaltz Road and farmed there with her brother Bernie until her retirement.
On October 10, 1961 she married Douglas W. Roesler at St. Mary’s Church in Coon Valley. She especially enjoyed her trips with her husband to Las Vegas and on the “country roads“ checking on the area crops.
In addition to her husband, Douglas, of 53 years, she is survived by a brother, Bernie (Ethie) Thiele of rural Coon Valley; special cousin, Rita Schultz of Melrose: special friends Tom, Rita, Morgan and Grant Sanger or rural Coon Valley, four sisters-in-law, Lucille Hoeth of Las Vegas, Doris Gerke of Genoa, WI, Susanne (Jerry) Forsythe of La Crosse and Rosella Roesler of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 18th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials are preferred to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
