Harriet "Linda" Morris

March 18, 1927 — March 9, 2015

Harriet “Linda” Morris 87 of Onalaska, formerly of Deer Park, NY, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Benedictine Manor in La Crosse. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 18, 1927 to Jennie and David Wartenberg and married Dallas Morris in 1949.
Harriet, who preferred being called Linda, was a little woman with a larger than life personality. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her dog Mocha. Her humor was contagious and her laughter brightened each and every day. Although she had many health issues, she eagerly looked toward a brighter and better future and never ended a day without expressing her love and gratitude for all she was blessed with.
She is survived by her children; Judy and Marvin Demant of Oyster Bay, NY, Dennis and Mary Morris of Buffalo, NY and Debra and Stephen Luedke of Onalaska. She was the grandmother of Marc, Angela, Kevin and Rinat Demant; Richard, Katie, Matthew and Christopher Morris; Laura and Callan Runchey; Daniel and Jenna Luedke. She was the G.G. of soon to be nine great-grandchildren and the sister of Arthur and Ziona Wartenberg of Fairlawn, NJ and sister-in-law of Betty Rogers of Lakeview, OR. Linda was the dear friend of Yvonne Nazario among countless others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas; her parents; stepfather, Nathan Goodman; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Harriet Wartenberg of Staten Island, NY, as well as several in laws from Lakeview, OR.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Becky Ehlers and Kathy Abraham for the extraordinary, loving care and friendship they provided her with.
A gathering will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 10:00 A.M. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, Onalaska Chapel, 907 Sand Lake Road, followed by a service at 11:00 AM that son-in-law Rabbi Marvin Demant will be presiding over. Immediately following the service Harriet will be laid to rest in the Onalaska City Cemetery.
