Lois Ann Thaldorf, 82, of La Crosse passed away February 16, 2015, at Mayo Health System Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 9, 1932 in La Crosse to Anton and Ann (Lepsch) Grabinski. Lois graduated from Aquinas High School in 1950. Lois married Philip Thaldorf on September 3rd, 1955 at Saint Wenceslaus in La Crosse. They were happily married for fifty-nine years.
Over the years, Lois was employed at Trane Company in the purchasing department and also at UW Madison as a secretary in the electrical engineering department where she earned her PHT degree (putting hubby through). She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, travelling, volunteering at the Moose Lodge, going to the casino, and bowling. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Lois and Phil were blessed with three children. They are very grateful for their love and support through both good and bad times.
She is survived by her husband Philip, three children, Vickie (Mark) Wagner, Jay (Deb) Thaldorf, Karen (George) Miller; fourteen grandchildren, Monica (Stephan) Davis, Amber (Mark) Kulig, Megan, Emily, Jamal, Bryce, Hunter and Eli Wagner, Philip and Samantha Thaldorf, Mason, Morgan, Maeve, and Macauley Miller,and three great grandchildren, Emma and Aly Kulig and Graycen Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joyce (Edgar) Ness, and grandchildren Ben and Brianna Wagner.
We would like to thank Dr. Deyo and the ICU nurses, Dr. Teske, Dr. Rasool, and the nurses in the Cancer Center at Mayo Health Systems for their support and excellent care. We would also like to thank Sister O'Neill and Sister Kathy Stuttgen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 23rd at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30am until the service. Memorials may be given to the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse for cancer research.
