Lois C. Gilberg

Lois C. Gilberg, 88, of Trempealeau, WI passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, WI. She was born on September 28, 1926 in Trempealeau to Paul and Hulda (Pappenfuss) Papenfuss. She married Edward Gilberg on June 19, 1946. Lois had worked at Trempealeau High School as a cook for 8 years before going to work at Ed’s Conoco station as a bookkeeper. Lois was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a devoted sister and a very caring wife to Edward. She took great pride in her yard and her house.
She is survived by one daughter Sandra (Ken) Johnson of Galesville, WI, one son Gary Gilberg of Trempealeau, WI, three grandsons Rife, Hayes and Eddie, six great-grandchildren Baylee, Easton, Leif, Brady, Logan and McKenzie, one sister Violet Crandall of La Crosse. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2007, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 24531 6th St., Trempealeau, WI. Pastor Dana Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Trempealeau Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. The Schumacher- Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, La Crosse Chapel is assisting the family.
