Robert R. Kaplan

Robert R. Kaplan, 83, of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. He was born on December 22, 1930 in Owatonna, MN to Victor and Anna (Falteysek) Kaplan. Bob received his Master’s Degree in Music from the McPhail School of Music in Minneapolis and worked as a professional jazz musician. He also taught band and music in Siren, WI, Bloomer, WI, and La Crosse, retiring in 1988. Robert was a member of the Medary Town Board for many years. He enjoyed restoring sports cars and loved nature, being outdoors, and walking in the woods.
He is survived by his wife Fran, two daughters, Laura (Jarvis) Jones and Carmen (Tim) Rosland, and a grandson, Taylor Jones.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 20th, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. Pastor Corey Sateren will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of services.
