June L. Snell

June L. Snell, 88, of La Crosse, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center. She was born on June 9, 1926 in Purdy, WI to John and Mattie (Davidson) Olson. June worked for the U.S. Government in Chicago, IL during WWII in air to land identification. In 1947 she married Glen Snell of Red Mound, WI. He passed away in the early 1970’s. June was a supporter and volunteer for Gifted Hands in La Crosse for many years. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Southern Colony Training School in Union Grove, WI. June loved to paint, do craft work and work in her garden. Family was very important to her.
She is survived by a son Curtis Snell of Minnetonka, MN, a sister Gillain (Lloyd) Langaard, a brother Ramon Olson along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister Margaret (Elmer) Pederson, brothers Eugene Olson, Peter Olson and David Olson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany – St. Joseph Care Center for all the care given to June.
