Beverly A. Mccoy

Beverly A. McCoy, 84, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility.

She was born on La Crosse on October 22, 1930, to John and Pernell Kenyon) Smith. She attended La Crosse schools and was a 1948 graduate of Logan High School. On August 3, 1951, Beverly married Robert R. “Mac” McCoy in La Crosse. Mac preceded her in death on December 29, 2010.

Beverly worked as a legal secretary in La Crosse for many years, working at several area law firms and also for The Wheeler Company. She was an active community volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at the Hearten House as well as a long-time faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Crosse where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in Ladies Aid.

Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker, an accomplished baker, and an exceptional seamstress. She also spent countless hours attending the sporting events and other activities of her beloved grandchildren. She is survived by her six children, Roxanne (Thomas) Kiesling, Cynthia (John) Maxwell, Susan Rogers, Laurie Sannes, Kevin (Jeannie) McCoy, and Steven (Stefanie) McCoy; twelve grandchildren, Nathan (Kim) Peterson, Matthew (Ann) Kiesling, Joshua Peterson, Tisha Sannes, Emily Rogers, Trevor (Jenny) McCoy, Kylie Sannes (fiancé, Anthony Panke), Karsten Sannes, Tyler (Amanda) McCoy, Sheridan McCoy, Shealyn McCoy, and Shaw McCoy; and two great grandchildren, Lauren and Madeleine Kiesling. She is further survived by her siblings, Robert “Bud” (Janine) Smith, Donald (Kay) Smith, Marilyn Osweiler, and David (Bonnie) Smith; step-brother, Charlie (Judy) Holliday; step-sister, Joan (Mike) Fleming; sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith; brother-in-law, Fred “Fritzi” (Dorothy) McCoy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Beverly was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Irvin Holliday; her in-laws, Fred and Belle McCoy; a brother, Richard Smith and an infant brother, John Edward Smith; an infant sister Hazel Pernell Smith, and brothers-in-law, Raymond Osweiler, James McCoy, and David McCoy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 8th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 803 St. Paul St., La Crosse. Pastor David Leistekow will officiate. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association.

The family would like to thank Vicki, Deb, Marie, Don, JoAnn, and the staff at Bethany-Riverside Hearten House and Light House for their wonderful care of Beverly.
