Margaret E. Schultz

March 10, 1920 — November 24, 2014

Margaret E Schultz, 94, of La Crosse, died on Monday, November 24, 2014, at Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility.

Margaret was born March 10, 1920 in rural Mindoro, Wis. to William and Edna (Pfaff) Lange. On May 22, 1939, she married Lester Schultz in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Lester preceded her in death on November 15, 1985.

For many years, Margaret took great pride caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Francis Hospital. Even after she “retired”, she kept busy sewing and altering clothes for other people. And when she wasn’t working or sewing, she was always somewhere cooking or baking for a crowd.

Margaret is survived by two of her daughters, Judy (Richard) Chapel of Houston, Minn., and Shirley (Stephen) Roseland of Granger, Ind.; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and twelve great, great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by two of her brothers, Norman (Jean) Lange of Coon Valley, Wis., and Eugene (Mary) Lang of Tuscan, Ariz.; two of her sisters, Helen Niedfeldt of Bangor, Wis., and Marie Schmidt of Sparta, Wis.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents, two of her daughters, Alice Dixon Blihovde Butler, and Sharon Barum; a brother, Richard Lange; a sister, Rose Brown; an infant granddaughter, Margaret Alice McCallson; and a grandson, Brian Dixon.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 3rd, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 Division Street, La Crosse. The Rev. Mark Jolivette will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the church. Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be submitted at www.schumacher-kish.com.

A special Thank You to the staff at Bethany-Riverside Lighthouse. Your beacon of light and caring shines bright and provides a safe harbor even during the darkest days.
