Karen K. Stoeckly, 72 of La Crosse, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Bethany Riverside nursing facility in La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse on February 24, 1942 to Sylvester J. and Mary M. (Schrabeck) Newburg. She had worked as an LPN in the Obstetrics department at St. Francis Hospital for several years until her retirement. Karen had a strong faith life and was a lifelong member of the Cathedral Of St. Joseph The Workman. She was a very creative person who loved scrapbooking and making floral arrangements and wreaths.
She is survived by her daughter Diane (Ken) Atchison of La Crosse, two grandchildren Benjamin and Caleb Nagel, six sisters Mary Ellen Wieman, Bonnie Newburg, Rita Challet, Lorna (Dick) Fox, Patty (Ron) Green, Debbie Trussoni all of La Crosse, special cousin Gloria Mickschl, special Great Great niece Taneesha Boudreau, her Goddaughter Julie Boudreau and many nieces, nephews Cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers in law and one nephew.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Monsignor Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family at the church from 9am until the time of services.
