James T. Shimanski

James T. Shimanski, 76 of La Crosse, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Benedictine Manor, La Crosse. He was born in La Crosse in October 20, 1938 to Zig and Aurelia (Engelhard) Shimanski. Jim married Marlene Johnson at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in June of 1961.
Jim is survived by his wife Marlene of La Crosse, sons Jason (Michelle) Shimanski of Weston, WI, Justin Shimanski of Milwaukee, WI, Grandchildren Alex, Katie and Sophie all of Weston, sister Kathy Cherf , In-laws Carol and Gary Thrun, niece Susan Newberry, nephews James Cherf, Michael Thrun and David Shimanski.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, brother Robert and brother-in-law Thomas Cherf.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Rev. Rick Roberts and Rev. Robert Cook will concelebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass.
