Delores E. Poeschel, 83 of West Salem, WI and formerly of Durand, WI, passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Lakeview Health Center in West Salem.
She was born in Eau Claire, WI on July 27, 1931 to Clarence and Minnie (Radtke) Iverson. On November 5, 1955 she married Leonard H. Poeschel and they shared 50 years of marriage together.
Delores enjoyed polka dancing and taking care of babies. She also had a love for puzzles, knitting and gardening. For many years, she had helped as a playground monitor at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Onalaska.
She is survived by her four children; David Poeschel of Eagan, MN, Jeff (Ana) Poeschel of Brownsville, MN, Deborah (Mark) Koenig of Onalaska, WI, Lori (Kevin) Hutter of Fountain City, WI; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister Lucille (Tom) Heater of Wabasha, MN and countless nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Leonard, she was preceded in death by one sister in law, one brother in law and one niece.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in rural Durand, WI. Rev. Paul Bosco will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on the family Friday afternoon from 3 until 5pm at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services Onalaska chapel located at 907 Sand Lake Rd. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 10:30 until the time of services.
