Glen Arthur Heberlein

September 30, 1930 — November 24, 2014

Glen "Butch" A. Heberlein, 84 of La Crescent died Monday, November 24th with his family and loved ones around him at Benedictine Manor in La Crosse, WI.
He was born in La Crosse on September 30, 1930 to Frank and Matilda (Forer) Heberlein of Hokah, MN. He served our country in the Marine Corp during the Korean conflict. After the armed services, he worked as a logger and finished his career as a master carpenter who loved what he did and enjoyed his creations.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Erickson) Heberlein of La Crescent; son Mark (Mary) Heberlein of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Heidi (Brent) Reid of Coon Valley, WI and Heather Heberlein of La Crosse; his sisters Arlene Swendiman and Phyllis Feldmeier; grandchildren Jennifer, Justin, Ethan, Garrett, Emily, Miranda, Nicholas, Skylar, Matteo; great grandchildren Anthony, Natalya, two brothers in law Michael (Jayme) Erickson of La Crosse and Steve (Mary Jo) Mickschl of La Crescent. He is further survived by many other close and loving family members. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew; brother Ralph of Caledonia and brother-in-law John Swendiman of Grand Marais, MN.
A thank you goes out to all of the staff at Mayo Healthcare System, Benedictine Manor and Mayo Hospice for their wonderful care with a special thank you to Dr. Peter Franta and Dr. Nick Furlong who provided Dad with a caring touch.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Church of the Crucifixion in La Crescent. The Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Burial with Military rites by the Gittens Leidel American Legion Post 595 will be in the Crucifixion Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on the family Friday morning at the church from 10am until the time of Mass.
Dad brought his wisdom and caring to this world and will be cherished forever.
